Is your organisation GDPR compliant? 100 days to comply
What do actors Ian McKellen and Cillian ‘Peaky Blinders’ Murphy, singer Paul Weller and GDPR have in common? They all celebrate 25 May as their birthday!
In just 100 days, on 25 May 2018, GDPR is officially born and compliance with this legislation is a must. There are some changes from the UK Data Protection Act – but as far as data handling is concerned, it makes total sense. All businesses handle customer and staff information, so it is obvious that this should be treated with care. It is sensitive and also a business asset. Data should be processed securely, deleted when requested (or no longer relevant) and securely stored.
Ideally your data should be stored off site in case your premises are hit by fire, flood or other business nasty (and sadly they do happen). It is also good business practice to ensure your data is stored in the UK (different countries have different regulations regarding the confidentiality of and access to data).
You can trust Replicate Data, our data backup solution, to ensure your data is backed up and stored safely. If your customer or staff details need removing from your data records then we can help you to achieve this – just ask.
